Valerie Nuzzolo

American clarinetist Valerie Nuzzolo is an enthusiastic performer, who has played throughout the United States and Asia. She earned a Masters in clarinet performance from Ithaca College, studying under Richard Faria in New York. There she was awarded an assistantship from Ithaca College that allowed her to teach clarinet to undergraduate music students. Nuzzolo earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education at Lee University, studying with Peter Cain. In 2014 she toured in Japan as a member of Advent Now!, a student formed group who performed holiday themed concerts throughout the country. Currently a doctoral student at Michigan State University, Valerie is excited to be perform and learn about music in India!

Mia Zamora

Clarinetist Mia Zamora is winner of the 2019 Michigan State University Concerto Competition.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Mathematics from Texas Tech University in her hometown of Lubbock, Texas; currently, she is pursuing her Master of Music degree at MSU. In addition to participating in numerous music festivals in the United States & Canada, she has performed with the Lubbock and Amarillo Symphony Orchestras (Texas).  Zamora studied under the tutelage of David Shea, Alain Desgagne and Guy Yehuda.  Zamora strives to convey her passion for music and instill it in others.  Not only does she look forward to performing in Kolkata, but she is eager to listen and learn.

Marissa Mitchell

A native of Tennessee, Marissa Mitchell is a Doctoral student under the tutelage of Guy Yehuda at Michigan State University.  Mitchell recently performed at the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival in New York City. Additionally, she earned awards for clarinet performance at Miss America Organization competitions.  Mitchell has over 10 years of teaching experience & volunteered as a clarinet instructor at the Joy of Music School, a program providing free lessons for youth. She currently teaches at the Michigan State University Community Music School. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Master of Music form Baylor University. Mitchell looks forward to immersing herself in the beautiful atmosphere of India, especially making her own sari!

Dr Tasha Warren

Clarinetist Tasha Warren is an avid teacher and international performer; she has premiered over 100 solo clarinet and chamber works throughout the United States, Europe, China & South Korea. Her solo CD, The Naked Clarinet (Crystal Records), has hailed praise in reviews from International Record Review, Fanfare Magazine & The Clarinet Magazine.  Warren is Assistant Professor of Chamber Music at the Michigan State University College of Music and has taught at Louisiana State University & the University of Virginia.  She earned her Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Music degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.  A native of Texas, Warren is excited to experience the vibrant colors, movement, and variety of Indian dance and music.
